Childbirth Education
Childbirth Education Classes are an important part of preparing for the birth of your new baby! They give you confidence, address your fears and often allow you to connect with your husband or partner.
When to start classes…
I suggest that you begin your search for a childbirth education teacher between 3-4 months gestation. This allows you enough time to complete a class series, which could last a little as one day, but also as long as 3 months.
Once you have chosen your teacher and the classes you’d like to take, try to have them completed by the 7th-8th month of pregnancy. This allows you at least a month before your expected due date to further prepare for your birth.
Classes OfferedLabor Intensive Class
This is a one-day, 2 to 4 hour class, that focuses solely on labor, birth and immediate postpartum. Great for 2nd time moms who want a refresher!
Comprehensive CBE Series
Private, 3-Class Series or 5-Class Series
This series will be tailored to suit your needs, unlike traditional hospital childbirth classes. The classes will include topics like nutrition, communication with medical staff, as well as other things relevant to your pregnancy and birth requests. Again, this series is meant to replace the hospital childbirth education class and should include your partner!
Group Classes
This series is similar to a traditional childbirth education class. Couples come each week for 5 weeks and learn about various pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum topics.
